Suzuki GB has announced pricing and availability of the 2013 Burgman 650 ABS Executive which was launched in the Scottish Highlands in April 2013.
Suzuki says the media "critically acclaimed" the but scoot, though its UK price was equivalent to about R122 000!
For that, however, you do get heatable seats and handlebar grips, power adjustment for the windscreen and folding mirrors, 50 litres of goodies space and three drive modes. This the latest version also has a number of technical changes to improve fuel efficiency and reduce clutch drag, as well as updated styling.
'EMERGING TREND'
Suzuki UK's general manager, Paul de Lusignan, commented: "We're beginning to see an emerging trend in the big-capacity scooter market. Buyers are not just using them for commuting or local travel but also to cover long distances and for touring.
"We decided to launch in the Scottish Highlands as the location not only provided some stunning scenery but also highlighted the elevated rider comfort and practicality of the latest Burgman, a model we think is going to appeal to a whole new audience.
"Not only is the price very competitive but the standard equipment levels are the highest on the market."
The previous Burgman retailed for about R115 000 in South Africa, according to the Suzuki South website here in Cape Town. Nibs Cragg, bossman there, says he'll take orders for the ABS Executive...
