Everybody's heard of the SA Car of the Year competition; not so many about the the annual Bike of the Year, but it's just as intense and a lot more fun for participants, writes DAVE FALL.
The Pirelli South African Bike of the Year Competition is an initiative by one of South Africa’s dedicated motorcycling portals, TheBikeShow.co.za (which also has a slot on Ignition TV).

Dennis van Aswegen said:" KTM 1190 Adventure - Best all rounder for tar and gravel, with an amazing 111kW motor and electronic suspension to match. It's able to keep up with superbikes on a breakfast run.
Tim Young: "My pick would be the KTM 1190"

1 Honda NC700X auto – best bike overall due to excellent consumption, ride height, seating/position, weight, build quality and price.
2 BMW R1200GS – still the best 2x2xfar
