CALIFORNIA, USA - In 2012 Wheels24 reported on the Zero S electric motorcycle. The company has launched a successor in 2014 - the Zero SR.
In 2012, the bike maker's model range saw number of improvements, including much edgier styling but most impressive was the specifications of its Zero S.
According to its maker, in 2012 the Zero S was the first mass-produced battery two-wheeler capable of exceeding 150km range on a single charge.
MORE POWER
Zero Motorcycles said its new “R” configuration is designed for riders who simply want to go faster and accelerate harder. The Zero SR features a larger 660 amp motor controller that provides 24% more power and 56% higher torque, delivering 140Nm.
To accommodate the increased power, the Zero SR motor uses higher temperature magnets to ensure better performance during extended durations at higher speeds.
Zero Motorcycles said it's new model is capable of reaching 100km/h in 3.3 seconds and can reach more than 160km/h using direct drive. The Zero SR offers riders an edge in competitive riding.
The motorcycle is available in red and the tank section is highlighted with a “Zero SR” emblem, while the tail section features the motor controller with a bold and elegantly designed heat sink.
According to technology website gizmag.com the SR can reach about 500 000km before the battery drops to 80% of its normal range.
