• New Diavel model range
• Arrives in SA end of May 2014
• New engine and exhaust system
Ducati's latest Diavel sports a new engine, exhaust system and styling tweaks.
It goes on sale in the UK at the end of April and will reach South Africa by May 2014.
'MAN-MOTORCYCLE RELATIONSHIP'
According to Ducati "The sport cruiser uses latest technologies to produce super-smooth performance with enhanced comfort and usability.
"“Custom shop beauty, state-of-the-art technology, innovative design and extraordinary riding pleasure remain masterfully blended into the Diavel.
“Built to have a commanding presence, though lightweight and agile like all Ducatis, the Diavel takes the man-motorcycle relationship to another level in absolute comfort.”
The bike is powered by Ducati's latest generation Testastretta 11° dual Spark 121kW engine combined with ant-lock brake system, traction control and riding modes.
The new bike weighs 205kg.
Ducati says a specially engineered 240 section rear tyre combined with Ducati chassis technology serves up great handling and lean angles which “defy the laws of physics, whether carving through curves on your favourite road or simply cruising the boulevards”.
The new Diavel will be available in black livery, a dark trellis frame and black wheels.
The Diavel Carbon edition comes in traditional Ducati Red with a red frame or the new White matte carbon with white frame. Both sports black, forged wheels by Marchesini.
The bikes retail for the equivalent of R245 892 for the Diavel and R297 752 for the carbon units in the UK.
Ducati South Africa said pricing is not yet available for South Africa and will be released closer to its launch.
