Last-lap Brno win for Pedrosa

Brno, Czech Republic - Spain's Dani Pedrosa surged past Jorge Lorenzo in the final turn at the Czech MotoGP on Sunday, winning a dramatic finish in Brno to narrow his compatriot's lead in the riders' championship.

With last year's winner Casey Stoner absent with a fractured ankle, Lorenzo and Pedrosa demonstrated their dominance as they took off and gradually widened the gap on the rest of the pack, gaining more than 12 seconds on Crutchlow in the end.

Pedrosa took the lead from pole-sitter Lorenzo halfway through the race and held on until the last lap, when Lorenzo took it back, but 26-year-old Pedrosa reacted immediately, fighting back to earn his third victory this season.

CRUTCHLOW THIRD

The Honda rider finished in a time of 42min51.570, only 0.178sec ahead of Lorenzo.

Pedrosa is now on 232 points, 13 behind Lorenzo in the standings, with six races remaining.

Crutchlow's third was his first podium spot of the season, easily ahead of Italy's Andrea Dovizioso in fourth.
