Faulty tank: KTM recall for Super Duke R

KTM is recalling its 2014 model year 1290 Super Duke R models to check the fuel tank sealing.

During routine testing of the fuel system KTM discovered deviations in the manufacturing process which can lead to fuel leaking - the internal overflow pipe, secured in the tank by two threaded inserts, might not be completely enclosed by plastic.

PROCEDURE CHANGED

Gaps in the plastic sheathing can result in fuel penetrating the threaded inserts and leaking in small quantities.

The supplier has already changed the manufacturing procedure.

Each owner of an affected and already delivered vehicle will be informed in writing by KTM. More information or the information whether the respective motorcycle is affected by the recall can be found at KTM dealers.

The sealing of the fuel tank can only be reviewed by an authorised and qualified KTM dealers.
