STUTTGART, Germany - Ducati took five awards at the annual Motorcycle of the Year event in Stuttgart, Germany on Monday evening, when the magazine, Motorrad, presented its annual awards.
Votes are decided by the magazine's readers and the awards underline the increasing strength of the famous Italian brand in the German market.
Ducati Motor Holding CEO, Claudio Domenicali, was at the event to accept the awards.
The bikemaker's Multistrada lived up to its 'four-bikes-in-one' character by being awarded 'Motorcycle of the Year' in the 'Allrounder' category, while the Diavel took 'Motorcycle of the Year' in the 'Cruiser' category. Both units are successful models for Ducati and it benchmarks in innovative design and technology.
In the 'Sportbike' category Ducati's 1199 and 899 Panigale Superbikes collected second and third respectively and the Hypermotard took third place in the 'Enduro/Supermoto' category, raising Ducati's awards total to five.
