Triumph adventure bike teaser

After months of rumours, it is now official: Triumph will be launching two new dual-purpose bikes to compete with the likes of BMW’s GS models and Ducati’s Multistrada 1200. One of the models will be more in the vein of the current road-orientated Triumph Tiger, while the other will be gunning for the harder-edged and very lucrative adventure motorcycling market.
The company remains decidedly tight-lipped about details on either model, but have launched a new video with some very cryptic imagery as well as a dedicated microsite where fans can register for updates.
It is likely that these new bikes will be powered by an 800cc triple engine – positioning them directly against BMW’s middleweight F 800 GS bikes. Both models are expected to be launched officially at the EICMA show in Milan later this year.
Triumph has also added some photos of the new adventure-orientated model on their official Facebook page after these were published in a UK motorcycle publication. And if first impressions are anything to go by, it certainly appears as if the Triumph design department was inspired by BMW’s creations.
Do you think Triumph can successfully compete in the adventure segment? Or has the Brits taken too long to launch their BMW-rivalling two-wheeler?
