CAN'T ESCAPE THE LONG ARM OF THE LAW: A rider's break neck speed of 234km/h wasn't enough to escape Johannesburg metro police.

JOHANNESBURG - A 49-year-old biker was arrested for speeding on the N1 near the Maraisburg offramp, reports Johannesburg metro police.

The biker caught racing at 234km/h on a green Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle.

TAPED PLATE

Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said: "He was caught doing 234km/h on his green Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle this afternoon.

"He had also covered the two letters of his number plate with black tape in a bid to avoid being caught on speed camera."

He was expected to appear in Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on September 3.
