Dainese launches safest suit yet

First there was the Dainese D-Air Race, advanced protection that helped keep Valentiono Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo safe during this year’s racing season.

Now that technology has filtered through to an everyday D-Air Street version for riders like you and me.

Here's how it works: The D-Air Street uses two units – one on the bike, the other on the rider. The bike unit includes accelerometer sensors on the fork and frame along with an electronic control unit.

By mounting the control unit on the bike Dainese has managed to keep the weight of the rider system very low while also providing a more reliable product.

SLIDES, TOO...

During a collision the sensors on the bike detect an impact within milliseconds and alert the rider’s unit which instantly inflates a 12-litre airbag with a pneumatic system that relies on “cold” technology gas generators.

You might also be happy to know the D-Air Street isn’t only triggered during a collision but also a slide. And with a deployment time of only 45 milliseconds it will go a long way to keeping you safe.

In fact, according to Dainese tests the D-Air Street system reduces the forces transferred to your back during a collision by 82% and cuts the forces to your chest by a whopping 92%.

Another major advantages of the system is that it greatly reduces the risk of neck injury by helping to keep your head stable during a fall.
