The last thing an Australian family expected to find under the bonnet of their car was a massive python.

Rebecca Pascall was attempting to start the car when she realised it had a flat battery, reports 9news.com. She called the National Roads and Motorists' Association (NRMA), who sent out a patrolman to assist.

Patrolman Steve Hedger arrived on the scene, lifted the bonnet only to discover a 1.4m-long diamond python.
