AT HOME IN THE BUNDUS AND SUBURBIA: For outdoor enthusiasts who need a vehicle that doubles as a family SUV, Jeep's Crossover Compass is well-suited to the task. Above shows the stylish new Black Edition set to make its debut later in 2012.

 

After the renewal of its entire model line-up in 2011 Jeep has bolstered its portfolio with the a new trim line and two limited-edition vehicles for the European market.

Jeep will launch three models over the next six months – Wrangler Mountain, Compass Black edition and Grand Cherokee S Limited.

Following a positive consumer response to the concept car revealed at the 2012 Geneva auto show, Jeep will introduce its new limited-edition Jeep Compass Black Edition later in 2012.

ASSERTIVE LOOKS

The all-wheel drive Compass is powered by a 2.2 turbodiesel engine capable of 121kW/320Nm.

The active Freedom Drive all-wheel drive with Lock mode was designed to give drivers assurance regardless of what's under his wheels.

The new limited-edition model combines a variety of styling cues and functional elements, among them black-gloss front-end accents.

The seven-slot grille has black inserts and changes to the front include black headlight and fog light surrounds. The roof rails and step pads have also been finished in black. For an assertive look, Jeep has kitted out its special-edition Compass with 18" black-gloss aluminium wheels.

The Compass Black Edition will arrive in Jeep dealerships in Europe by August 2012 and the new S Limited trim line of the brand's flagship Grand Cherokee, will debut in September.
