11-YEAR-OLD 4X4 STAR

Antonie Swart was crowned the overall winner of the day earning 603 points in his two-wheel drive buggy.  He completed the time trial in 37 seconds.

Swart said: “The day was excellent and I am ecstatic that we came out as overall winners.  It was a very difficult track today, but with the power we had, we pulled it off and we look forward to defending our title next year.”

In second place was Richard Pook, who earned 561 points in his 1800 pipe frame buggy. Prook was followed by 11-year-old Bradley Schreiber (521 points) in third behind the wheel of his 1600 two-wheel drive buggy.

Schreiber said, “I always wanted to compete in this event but I wasn’t allowed to enter in 2011 because I didn’t have enough experience.  This event is exciting, it’s much more than I expected and I had lots of fun.”

At the event the Isuzu Off-Road Academy provided customers a unique chance to test their vehicles in a controlled off-road environment.

All proceeds raised at the Isuzu 4x4 Challenge will be donated to the Kirkwood High School and St Reginald’s Primary School.
