Chrysler SA chose to keep its awesome Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 and its terrifying performance penned in a walled area for its launch to 12 motoring writers. Kyalami was the venue and no private motorists were hurt in the making of this report.

MIDRAND - Jeep will be adding another level of exclusivity for its performance-tuned Grand Cherokee SRT8 - the Alpine limited edition.

The Alpine edition features a new white paint job, black 20" chromed rims, and black exterior enhancements:

•    Jeep hood badge
•    Grand Cherokee door badge
•    Grille surround and inserts
•    Rear light bar and step pad
•    Tailgate SRT8 badge accent

The Grand Cherokee SRT8 Alpine Edition is available from Jeep dealerships countrywide and will retail for R864 990 (an earlier version of this news item carried a price of R834 990 which was later amended by Chrysler SA).

If you'd like to get a hold of the new model you'd better act fast as only 95 units will be made available locally.
